Its Best Week Ever

A local Chipotle
Mexican Grille, located in the Greenyards Plaza on Mayfield Road, has reported a
sales boost of at least 1000%.
“It’s crazy,” said Roger Orton, general manager, “I’ve had to
schedule every worker I have, and even hire a few new ones.”
The Mayfield Chipotle sits neatly wedged between Taco Bell and Jack
in the Box.
“It’s like we’re the only one making any money out
here,” Orton said.
The national chain of Mexican fast-food restaurants, owned
by McDonald’s, has reported an overall increase of 300% in sales this week.
“Some people have asked if we have E. coli,” said Chipotle
worker Sheila Simpson, 18, “and I just say, ‘no, but we
do have barbacoa and carnitas.’”
Orton attributes the boost in sales to the people finally appreciating
his superior service.
"I make a point to yell 'hi' and 'bye' to every customer who walks
in and out of our doors," Orton said. "I figure if Cici's Pizza can
do it, so can we."
Simpson said she hadn't noticed that Taco Bell had shut its doors all week.
"No, I usually just make a burrito here when no one's looking,"
Simpson said. "Crap- don't write that."
Simpson says she has noticed customers making different requests.
“Everyone keeps saying ‘no green onions,' but we don’t
even have green onions,” said Simpson.
