Eddie was just a bored business owner looking for a hobby. Then he saw the fumbling local serial killer, the Scranton Strangler, and thought, "I could do better than that."
Soon he was out-killing the Strangler and loving it.
He even went on to kill the Strangler's victims that got away. In a final showdown, however, the bumbling Strangler managed to kill Eddie, thus revealing his secret identity- a carpet-peddling serial killer.
