Senator and 2008 presidential candidate John McCain announced Monday that he will not be joining the Twitter.com online community.
"I just don't get it," he said.
McCain has recently been acquainting himself with modern technology like the internet.
"I signed up and found out it's nothing but that one box I ignore on MySpace," said McCain. "It's crap."
Twitter asks its users to answer the question, "What are you doing?", updating friends "between blogs and emails" in 140 characters or less.
"'Beth is anxious about her Chemistry test.'" quoted McCain. "Who cares?"
"I'll I.M., Facebook, MySpace, Digg or Yelp, but I'm not going to Twitter," vowed McCain.
Twitter founder Evan Williams responded to the public rejection in turn.
"Who asked for his friendship?" Williams said. "No one needs updates on McCain's grandstanding or nap schedule."
